Seminars

The concept is simple but powerful:

  1. You get a small group of interested people together
  2. We provide a proven curriculum and facilitator
  3. You jump into our 90-minute sessions that have proven their ability to trigger life-changing discussions and engender personal growth

As easy as 1-2-3.

Ayeka offers a choice of four eight-session seminars in selected cities across the U.S. and in Israel.  Each session runs between 90 – 120 minutes, depending on the nature of the group and their desire to talk. Ideally, sessions would be weekly, allowing enough time to process and actualize each topic without allowing too much time to pass between meetings. We strongly suggest facilitating at least eight of the sessions, however if time and group technicalities make this difficult, then we suggest that you choose at least 6 of the topics that most resonate with you – sessions in which the sources, experiential exercises, and personalizing questions pluck a deep and personal chord.

Each session includes the three Ayeka elements:
• Jewish texts,
• Guided writing exercise,
• Spiritual chevruta questions to help personalize the ideas.

DEVELOPING YOUR OWN PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

The goal of this 8-session seminar is to give us the opportunity to focus, reflect, and deepen our relationship with God.

Often in Judaism and in life in general we express our relationship to God through acts involving other people, places, and things. Yet, as in all relationships, there needs to be a time to focus directly on the relationship itself.

It is not easy to find the time to completely focus on a relationship. The moments in which we succeed in doing so are often labeled “quality time”. So too in our relationship with God, it is rare that we focus exclusively on this relationship.

This seminar will focus on how to build a personal relationship with God. How to begin the conversation, names of God, the up’s and down’s of this relationship, and more. This module may be particularly daunting because it raises subjects with which we frequently struggle. We have noticed that many Jews do not feel comfortable talking personally about their relationship with God, and this will be the heart of this seminar. We hope that these sessions provide the venue for understanding and integrating what it authentically means to wrestle, listen, talk, and live a direct relationship with God Everyone in their own path; everyone at their own pace.

BRINGING GOD INTO MY DAILY LIFE

The goal of this 8-session seminar is to bring a greater awareness of God into our daily living.

The routine of life can get us “stuck.” We can become desensitized to the depth and beauty concealed within in our daily moments. Sometimes we may imagine needing grand opportunities for inspiration and change, yet improving our lives begins with changing a single moment.

Some moments we experience mindlessly, as if sleep-walking. Other moments we live attentively, appreciating their beauty and depth. How is it possible to live our lives more profoundly, with a greater sense of God and our spiritual natures? Sometimes God is not hidden far away; sometimes God is hidden very close by.

BRINGING GOD INTO MY RELATIONSHIPS

The goal of this 8-session seminar is to bring a greater awareness of God into our relationships.

Spiritual growth can be measured by how we behave with others. Are we behaving with greater love, kindness, and patience? Are moments of jealousy stemming from a lack of awareness of our own God-given uniqueness and gifts? Do we realize that not only I, but every human being, is created in the Image of God. How does this awareness affect my behavior?

These sessions provide the venue for taking steps to become a more loving, patient, giving human being. Everyone in their own path; everyone at their own pace.

We strongly suggest facilitating all of the sessions, however if time and group technicalities make this difficult, then we suggest that you choose at least 6 of the topics that most resonate with you – sessions in which the sources, experiential exercises, and personalizing questions pluck a deep and personal chord.

BRINGING GOD INTO MY PRAYERS

Prayer can be an empty experience. This 8-session seminar will focus on how to get beyond the words and the routine. What does it mean to wrestle with God? To stand in the presence of God? Are we being a nudge when we ask God for something? What wisdom do Rav Kook, Abraham Joshua Heschel, and the Talmud have for us? How can we make the words and the experience our own?
