To be an Ayeka Facilitator, you should be:

1. Asking yourself ‘Ayeka?’ in your spiritual life and relationship with God. Desiring to grow in your Jewish life.

2. Jewishly Engaged and open to learning and exploring new aspects of living Jewishly.

3. Accepting the uniqueness of every person’s individual path and pace of Jewish living.

4. Loving & Sincere about helping to facilitate people’s growth. Caring about each person and his or her personal journey.

5. Humble enough to admit not knowing all the answers or feel the need to answer every question. Grateful for having the opportunity to facilitate a group.

6. Personal and Open – from your mind and from your heart – about sharing your own challenges and struggles.

7. A Good Listener to individuals and able to ‘take the pulse’ of a group.

8. Comfortable guiding a group’s dynamic. Respectful of people’s space and limits, yet encouraging people to share of themselves with the group. Able to guide the group without bringing the focus too much to yourself.

9. Upbeat. Some charisma and ability to create a positive while introspective atmosphere for a group.

10. Responsible to prepare sessions ahead of time and follow up with the group members by email between sessions.
